Citizenship : Kohlberg's moral theory

Image
Hello everyone,  The topic for this weeks citizenship class was Kohlberg's theory of morality.  We discussed the model and the difference in the behaviour of young children, teens and adults in various situations.    This Youtube video gives a great overview of the stages of Kohlberg's theory and the experiment he used to develop it.  What would you do in the ‘Heinz’ situation?  Can you think of an example of how you behaved in pre-preconventional, conventional and post conventional situation? English : Endangered animals

Image
Hello everyone,  In English class we have been discussing endangered animals and learning vocabulary associated with the theme.  Last week we created these posters about our chosen endangered animals. The task was a to write a description of their creature using the vocabulary that we learnt in the previous class. I also asked them to explain why this animal is at risk and what we can do to protect them.  The results were excellent! Here's the display and some of my favourites. What endangered animal would you choose to write about?  Alice

Technology : What is energy?

Hello everyone,  In Technology class we have been discussing all things energy and electricity.  In this class we looked at the different forms of energy with some real life examples and what our lives would be like without electrical energy. We also watched a Youtube video and answered questions on the topic.  You should now be able to answer the question 'what is energy?'!  Alice

Biology : Dietary problems

Image
Hello everyone,  For my first biology class of the year, I prepared a presentation about dietary problems for 3ESO. We discussed how various dietary issues  affect groups around the world in different ways, for example where undernutrition and obesity are more prevalent or the age group most affected by eating disorders.  Can you answer the questions?  Alice

Citizenship : The UK education system

Image
Hello everyone,  In the first Citizenship class of this term, we have been discussing the British education system, comparing it to students' experiences here in Spain.  I prepared this presentation and then conducted a class discussion. It was interesting to find out students' aspirations for the future, with many planning to attend university after they finish their high school studies. We also had an interesting debate about the pros and cons of school uniform, something that students here have not experienced.  Take a look at the presentation below: What is the education system like in your country?  Alice
